I had really just picked up on my knitting when Christmas rolled around. I was enjoying it, and wanted to 'share the joy' so I knit my 5 yr old son a scarf. He didn't think much of it until this year when he was at school.
I used the same kind of yarn for this as I did the toddler poncho. Lion Brand Homespun. Last year he really liked green too. This year yellow is the favored color.
I believe I cast on 10 stitches, and just knit to length. There is a dropped stitch, which has created a nice size hole in the hidden portion of the scarf. It's almost big enough to pull the other side through and keep it snug, but it's a bit too low for that.
