Summer!

YAY SUMMER!!! I'm so glad it's summer!!! We've been done with school for a few weeks, and are very thankful we're finished!! We're looking forward to another homeschool year with a 3rd grader and a Kindergartner!!!!

Here are some old pictures!!!

These are my roses, sadly those in the black plastic did not make it. But the bigger one in the square container is doing pretty well! We bought it as just a root in a bag!!

Here are my freshly purchased "baby" tomato plants!!

And I had a tulip bloom!! They've been in the ground for almost 5 years, it's about time! I hope we get more next Spring!

Sprouts! Most of them didn't make it. I won't be using this method for starting next year.

Bad start to vacation. But as of TODAY I have a new bumper!

We had a chirpy little visitor. We sat on the driveway and watched this baby bird learning to fly, and mama or daddy feeding it. We were mostly watching to keep our cat away. I did not know there was a bird in the bush when I went to the crawlspace, but Mama Magpies don't like it much when you get near her babies, so I was quickly alerted to the situation LOL

I of course have more pictures, I need to get them off the camera and off the phone, then I can upload a few.

Photo Friday

Following in the footsteps of many of my blogger friends, I am attempting to make this a Friday ritual.

A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember. If you're inspired to do the same, leave a link to your 'moment' in the comments for all to find and see.

Have a wonderful weekend!  Peace!

vacation pictures

Hopefully this week I'll get a few of our pictures up!

Little girl suffered a nasty stomach bug this week, came down with it Tuesday morning, and after 2 trips to the doctor, we finally had to resort to Zofran to get her to stop throwing up so she could begin to rehydrate.

I'm way behind on laundry and dishes, from feeling like I couldn't leave the girls side for a moment.

Hopefully I'll get that picture update posted really soon!

I DID IT!!!

I had a root canal and crown on Thursday, done and done! Thank goodness for Valium, and nitrus oxide!!!

Yesterday, yes YESTERDAY, I had all 4 wisdom teeth extracted!!! I was expecting a world of pain. I am looking forward to my next dose of pain killers, but the motrin is holding me over quite well ;)

Keep me in your thoughts for a speedy recovery. I'm looking forward to things like yawning, stretching, eating, coughing etc with out extra pain. But even less than 24 hours (I'm like 22.5 hours post op) I feel better with them OUT than I did in!! No more pressing on my jaw bones!!!

Spring has Sprung!!

I hope the sun comes out some this afternoon so I can take some pictures. I have the leaves for my tulips, and daffodils. Most of my neighbors that have bulbs already have blooms. I usually only get that one sad bloom. But it's pretty!! I'm hoping it blooms this weekend!

I'll do my best to get the spring pictures posted as I take them. I just wanted to let my few followers know that I am having some dental work done Thursday and Friday and probably won't be around for a week. But that wont' be anything new will it? lol

Come on SPRING!!

I see that it's supposed to reach 70* outside today!!! I'm so excited, Spring is coming!! I think we'll be cleaning up inside today so we can get our inside seed starters going soon. I'd also like to get started on building my garden boxes so I think we're going to drive down to my parents house and pick up my pallets :) I'll be sure to get some pictures up soon!!

God Little Sprouts here we come!!!

There is a local church, and the put this consignment sale on twice a year. It's a LIFE SAVER!! I had a stranger tell me about it in a grocery store a few years back and decided to check it out. Even when we were living on credit cards I was able to outfit my children for the entire spring/summer and fall/winter seasons because of this sale. I am so grateful, I just wish my kids didn't use up the last bit of life the clothes had lol One day I'll go volunteer a crap load of hours and help them out (need to not need babysitters for that)

Wish me luck!!! Off to save money!

More, more snow!

We really enjoyed the snow this year. It was just right for packing and playing. I didn't get any pics of the front of the house before my camera battery died, and before we went sledding down the driveway. We ended up with a large laundry basket, and the kids each only went once. But I must have gone 20 times lol

This is Bob. He replaced Stan. At least until Bob fell over, then he 'joined' Stan.

The kids playing in the morning before it got too warm.

And at the end of the day, looking out at all the grass, dirt, and what was left of the snow, I smiled to myself. We all had a great time, and I really appreciate this gift of Winter. I'm also appreciative that I don't have to deal with it often!

Happy Valentine's Day! Happy Chinese New Year!

More Snow...

When we woke up in the morning, the snow had stopped, but we were left with a beautiful, white...almost pristine backyard. It was so beautiful.

(this was actually Friday afternoon after some very daring birds hopped up near the window while the kids were watching a movie and I was in the back putting away laundry.

Friday afternoon, checking out the snow stuck to her gloves

Aaaahhh, good morning. Such a lovely view.

We've had Angel Visitors!!

The 'stack'

Can you guess what made this track!? I bet you're thinking it's a deer. Well, you'd be wrong......

 It's from a squirrel!!

Meet Stan.

Meet Snowball.

So long Stan.

(The story...the kids were throwing snowballs and all was well until the little one too a snowball to the face. This was understandably upsetting, so we stopped allowing the snowball fight. Then we made the snowman. Then we said, if you still want to throw snow, throw it at Stan. They did. )

Happy Snow Day, part 1

It started snowing around 12 yesterday when I finished changing my tire...more on that later...this is about snow!

Not sure what time this was, but this spot is absolutely breathtaking this morning

My first Baby, this is Cleo. She is an outdoor cat, hates to be inside. I even had the door open here, she was considering coming in. But the kids were awake.

I told you I was bird obsessed..... click on these to make them larger, these birds are so pretty!

And all 5 cardinals, two male and three female, stayed in the yard for a good 2 hours yesterday.

Hope you enjoyed! I'll put more up later!

*sigh*

I have so missed having something worthwhile to blog about. I don't seem to have the time/focus to crochet anything new. My garden sits out there looking like rubbish. No really, complete rubbish! But I spread some bird seed in it and at least get to enjoy some tiny little birds hopping around.

I've started planning this years garden, and I'm going to be BUILDING A BOX!!! YES!!!

That's right! My mother, (Thanks Mom!!) has acquired two wooden pallets from her office for me to rip apart and build a box. I'm so excited! I can't wait for it to warm up so I can go pick them up and start the deconstruction, and then I can make the actual plans.

I have "carefully" selected the seeds I will be starting this year, and have already decided that I will be going back to the Ladd's Farm supply store to pick up the tomato plants. That's where I bought the one last year that we loved the maters from. I'll do my best to retain some of those seeds this year, like I should have last year. Only last year the ones we ate, we ate! There were more little green maters we were expecting to make it.

But truth be told, we just need a deeper garden to work with.

The majority of my seeds this year though are for flowers! I will NOT be direct sewing them again though. I bought 2 of the large starter kits last year, along with a bag of 'refils' for the little peet/dirt thing. I will have flowers this spring!!!!
