Ok, so I've already started my next pair of socks, I may make one other gift pair. After the pair that has been started I plan to make (hopefully)
Mario Star for my son and then maybe some ice cream for my daughter? Or there is a Unicorn pattern, and a rocket pattern. I might try to make all 4. (lord help me)
And I thought I was going to get away with out buying anymore yarn before next year! HAHAH!!!

Pictures!!
Yay! I love Mac's! My camera has not been cooperating with our Linux machines, however it popped right up on the Mac.
With out further ado....

She likes to show them off :)
and the blue stripped piece was SUPPOSED to be my first stripped sock. Well, I made the cuffs to skinny so now they're arm warmers.

And finally, THE HAT. I followed the pattern on this to a "t" however, when I pieced the brim with the dome the first time, the brim nearly covered my entire nose!!!! So I pulled back as much of the dome as I could and it worked ok. It's supposed to be that low, plus the recipient has a larger head than I do. The ear flaps seem small, but they work, and the braids were fun!! I'm going to redo the pom pom, the one pictured is not attached, however I'm going to attempt to make a larger one.

I had to use my son to get a good pick of the top/back of the hat. Maybe I'll post more after Christmas.

Mittens crocheted , the cuffs are a bit too short for Kate, so I'm going to attempt to add some length to them.

Cushy socks for a certain family member :)

A new favorite song
For those of you who know me, you know that music is a big part of me. I love music, and some days rely on it to "pull me through" (especially when I need cleaning motivation)
Well, I have a new favorite. I just adore Jason Mraz "I'm Yours" I love his voice, and it really sounds like he is singing to his love. And if you read the lyrics, it's not all serious, it's a lot of fun :)
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Well, you done done me and you bet I felt it
I tried to be chill but your so hot that I melted
I fell right through the cracks, now I'm tryin to get back
before the cool done run out I'll be givin it my bestest
and nothin's gonna stop me but divine intervention
I reckon it's again my turn to win some or learn some
But I won't hesitate no more,
no more, it cannot wait
I'm yours
Well open up your mind and see like me
open up your plans and damn you're free
look into your heart and you'll find love love love love
listen to the music of the moment people dance and sing
We're just one big family
And it's our godforsaken right to be loved loved loved loved loved
So, I won't hesitate no more,
no more, it cannot wait I'm sure
there's no need to complicate our time is short
this is our fate
I'm yours
**(do do-cha do do do-cha do-cha do doncha want to)** Scooch on over closer, dear
And I will nibble your ear
I've been spendin' way too long checkin' my tongue in the mirror
and bendin' over backwards just to try to see it clearer
But my breath fogged up the glass
and so I drew a new face and I laughed
I guess what I'd be sayin' is there ain't no better reason
to rid yourself of vanities and just go with the seasons
it's what we aim to do
our name is our virtue
But I won't hesitate no more,
no more it cannot wait
I'm yours
Well open up your mind and see like me
open up your plans and damn you're free
look into your heart and you will find that the sky is yours
so please don't, please don't, please don't,
there's no need to complicate,
Cause our time is short
This, this, this is our fate,
I'm yours

neglect
I have been neglecting my sister in laws hat. It's goofy looking right now, but mostly complete. I may need to rework the crown entirely :( Thankfully it didn't take very long. Maybe just ripping back some rows will do it. I just need to keep an eye on my stitch count. (Figures, I have removed all the stitch markers marking new rounds!!!)
I worked up a pair of mittens, very simple pattern, could have finished both in 2-3 hours.
I have also been attempting to use Yarn Bee 'Frosting' to create a pair of socks for myself. I've used Yarn Bee before, but not "Frosting" just "Cameo". I think I may ditch the effort as I have yet (out of 3 tries) to manage not to increase, or decrease the number of stitches of the cuff (the starting point of the pattern I like). And to make matters worse, when trying to pull back stitches, the yarn snaps (I seem to have this problem a lot actually)
So tomorrow, I start on a pair of socks for my Mother in Law. It's the Cameo yarn, so I shouldn't have (much of a) problem with the stitches.
I need to upload some pictures, and need to take some pictures of the yarn.
On a side note - *warning political*
I have avoided the political discussion since I got into it this year, but I am very proud to have voted this year. Four years ago, I did vote for President Bush, as I did 8 years ago. However, this is the first time I have felt I was NOT chosing 'the lesser of two evils' and I gotta tell you, it feels great to have such confidence in our President-Elect. I look forward to the next four years, and am very hopeful for our country. So, Congratulations President- Elect Barack Obama! I'm proud to say that I voted for you!

Knitting?????
Yep, knitting. I pulled out the needles, the round no less, and cast on last night. I do still love crocheting, but had to try knitting again. I'm quicker, but have yet to purl (or try) this time.
With Tuesday being Election Day my son has no school! So we'll be going to vote at some point when the line will hopefully be smallish. We live in a fairly rural area (not super rural but close enough for living an hour from Atlanta.) that our polling place is a volunteer fire house. Seriously the "one man on duty" type. Then from there we'll be heading to Hobby Lobby so I can purchase the yarn for Christmas socks!! I think I'm doing 4 pair!!
I also need to work on the things I'm making for the kids. Too bad most of this stuff requires the same size hook, of which I only have 2!

FOLLOW ME!
Hey, I know you read, so click on the Follow Me over there -----------> and follow me :) I probably follow you ;)
Happy Halloween
Yeah, I know it's over. But still. We had some fun here, made a lot of cookies for Jack's class party, and they were well received. Only one kid didn't want one. Dunno why, doesn't matter.
I finished my Tonks costume just in time. I chose iron on decorations to complete the jeans. I'm a little miffed at how poorly they ironed on. Not all parts had glue on them, so some are ALREADY peeling up. Oh well, the jeans were trash anyway! I'll wear them until the rear end rips out again (BIG hole in the bum that we sewed back together) I did buy some fabric for patches so maybe we'll patch it, but I doubt it, there are lots of other little failures waiting to be catastrophic on these jeans. (but they're sooooo comfy....and I need them to last until the Half Blood Price is in theaters. :) )
Jack went as G.I.Joe and Kate as a Princess. They were cute :) I'll get pics uploaded soon.
And next week we'll be back to crocheting, I've got Christmas stuff to crank out now!! Which means I desperately need to go to Hobby Lobby and get yarn for the socks!
